My musical Mind

Happily I was asked to play keyboards for a demo tape with band Ambercrape. This is still work in progress, but first song with my playing is available at myspace.com/ambercrape.

There are still some to come. So stay tuned!

Airut is sleeping. And my musical mind is yearning for activity. It has been way too long when I last wrote a song. Or was playing live. Or had a traditional rehearsals. Or… actually anything!

Matti and Toni from Airut are kinda feeling the same. We have had some discussions on a side project (actually, we have had those a few years now…) . But now that Airut is not taking that much our time, it would be a wonderful time to produce something new. We’ll see.

In the meantime, if you happen to need a keyboardist / backing guitar player, let me know!

… in foreseeable future. Some of the guys are not that interested in hitting the road so we’ll write a few new songs and maybe record a new album. Or something. Time will tell.

Music has been the most important thing in my life as far as I can remember. It has been there from childhood. During my early days we had some kind of electric organs at home and after all those Incy-wincy Spiders and the like, I headed towards Suuri Toivelaulukirja -series which is a finnish collection of popular songs from all over the world, old and new, easy and hard.

But it was not until 1996 when I really started to live for music. I was totally amazed by the incredible performance by an artist called Dream Theater on their album Images and Words. I was totally blown off. A few following years I did almost nothing but played along with that record.

Since then, I’ve played in a multitude of bands (see a list of most of them here). And I’m always open for new projects.

One of my own songs have found it’s way to the public: Fragile written for Bronzé Doré can be heard on a film Obsessio.

This is unbelievable. We recorded our parts in last april and may, did some overdubs in june and have been waiting for the mix ever since. And the end is not foreseeable… It’s almost there but not yet really. And we have no idea, when it’ll be. How disturbing!
